Introducing Front's new iOS app

Three years ago, we started Front with the vision of building the first inbox for teams. At the time, some email clients were targeting teams, but none of them had any meaningful functionality to make collaboration actually work at the inbox level. I’m talking about the ability to assign an email to a team member, or to collaborate internally without the constant headache of CCs and BCCs, or to reply in your name to a message sent to a shared address, just to name a few. With more than 1,300 companies using Front daily, I can say with confidence that these features were long overdue.

Today we’re bringing this vision to the mobile world, where most email clients are still single player tools. We’re excited to release Front for iOS, bringing every communication channel (email, SMS, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) together inside a simple, fast mobile app for your iPhone and iPad. The app is packed with all of the features that made Front’s desktop version successful: assigning, commenting, mentioning, reminders, real-time collision detection, snoozing, and more.

Here is what you can find in the app:

  • All of your team inboxes in one place
  • Archive or delete conversations in one swipe
  • Assign a conversation to a teammate
  • Write internal comments and @mentions
  • Snooze conversation and add reminders
  • Use canned responses
  • Collaborative drafts
  • Real-time collision detection
  • In-app notifications
  • Follow and unfollow threads
  • Move conversations from one inbox to another
  • Tag conversations

This release comes with a few other exciting pieces of news at Front.

We’ve just hit $2M in annual recurring revenue, twice the revenue we had 6 months ago.

We’ve been chosen by awesome new customers: Twilio, Stripe, and LVMH are now using Front to collaborate better over email.

We’ve just hired Peter Ahn. Peter was a top sales performer at Dropbox from 2012 to 2015. He built their New York sales team, then their media sales team, and then was hired by Slack to build their enterprise sales team. He’ll be joining Front in a few days to build our business development team!

Okay, we're getting back to work. We hope you’ll download Front for iOS and let us know what you think!

  • Eliza Rose Hi there! Currently there's no way to mark as unread on the mobile app, but this is on our roadmap 😀
